I went to the customer's home to provide an estimate to install a mini split.
I completed a diagnostic on an ICP gas furnace. Determined that the control board and the blower motor have failed. I gave the client an estimate to replace the control board and blower motor. I also gave the client an estimate to replace the furnace. I recommend that due to the age, condition and cost of repairs (seen and unseen) that the unit be replaced. Client declined any repairs at this time.
I removed a Goodman Gas furnace and Goodman Air Conditioner. I installed a Five Star 80% 70,000 BTU Furnace / Fan and a Five Star 13 SEER 2.5 Ton Heat Pump. Cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time. Included with the installation is a free 1 year service maintenance agreement.
Arrived on site to complete a heating tune up. Client did not respond to phone calls or knock on door. Appointment to be rescheduled.
I completed a diagnostic on a York gas furnace. Determined that the inducer was clogged. Found that the collector box is clogged with black sand. Exhaust pipe is covered in black soot. Determined that the heat exchanger has collapsed. I gave the client an estimate for repairs. I also gave the client an estimate to replace the furnace. I recommend that due to the age (33 years), condition and cost of repairs (seen and unseen) that the unit be replaced. Client decided to replace the furnace. Installation scheduled for tomorrow.
